Hygiene monitoring in 30 secondsTake a sample from a surface with the sterile cotton swab (LuciPac Pen) or from a liquid or water with the sterile LuciPac Pen-AQUA sampler. The respective sampler is then inserted into the first reaction chamber, which is sealed with aluminium foil. This contains a strong detergent target solution and breaks down any bacteria present in the sample to make the ATP molecule accessible.
In the following step, this mixture reacts with the freeze-dried enzymes in the lower chamber. Here, the luminescence to be measured is released in an enzymatic cycle. The degree of luminescence is in direct proportion to the amount of ATP-AMP present and can be quantified with the Lumitester Smart as Relative Light Units ( RLUs ). The more bioluminescence measured, the greater the degree of contamination. The entire process takes less than 30 seconds.
Without enrichment or incubation, you will know the level of contamination by organic residues such as bacteria after a maximum of half a minute. Compared to conventionally available Luciferase, the patented, genetically engineered enzyme of the firefly has a tolerance to various cleaning agents. Thus
residues of surfactants (cleaning agents) do not usually paralyse the reaction, measurement and result are not falsified.
With the help of an app, you can set a user-defined measurement target, save the measurement results directly in the cloud and display a trend of the test site. This way you are able to see an improvement effect at a glance, anytime and anywhere.
