Gloss meter with 3 angles (20° / 60° / 85°) MG268-F2 

The Glossmeter KSJ MG268-F2 enables the measurement of gloss differences on flat surfaces. With measurement angles of 20°, 60° and 85°, it is suitable for materials ranging from matt to high-gloss. It is particularly useful for testing and comparing coatings, especially wet and powder coatings. Other areas of application include printing inks, plastics, wood, ceramics, paper and polished stone.

A single press of a button records the gloss values at the selected measurement angles. The results appear directly on the display in GU (Gloss Units). The German-language menu makes operation straightforward. For measurement series, the device displays group averages and stores up to 10,000 measurement values in up to 999 groups.

In addition to gloss, the MG268-F2 can display haze at the 20°/60° angle combination. The reflectance can also be displayed as a separate measurement value in per cent. GU are not expressed as a percentage.

The storage case contains a gloss tile as a calibration standard. When the instrument is switched on whilst in the case, it performs a self-diagnostic test. If necessary, it can then be calibrated.

Measurement data can be transferred to a Windows computer via the USB cable using the KSJ Data Operator software and exported in Excel format. Reference values for the evaluation of measurement series can also be defined within the software.

The instrument is designed in accordance with ISO 2813. The definition of the haze value complies with ASTM D4039. The calibration standard is traceable to the Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology (SIMT).
