Silverschmidt Concrete Test Hammer PC - Type N
Silverschmidt Concrete Test Hammer PC - Type N
Concrete test hammers are the most commonly used measuring device for rapid, non-destructive testing of the condition of concrete structures. The world's most advanced rebound hammer: Silverschmidt PC - with unrivalled scattering characteristics, robustness and maximum measuring range.
Independent tests carried out by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Germany have shown that the patented measuring principle of the SilverSchmidt has a lower scatter within the entire measuring range than conventional test hammers. As a result of the SilverSchmidt's independence from the direction of impact, a possible source of human error is completely eliminated. Automatic evaluation using predefined statistical criteria and software analysis tools significantly improve uniformity testing.
All major standards recommend using a separate curve for each specific mixture. Such user-defined conversion curves can be downloaded to the test hammer via the powerful Hammerlink software (PC model only). Together with the integrated correction for shape factor and carbonation, this allows the best possible determination of compressive strength.
By using the mushroom pin together with the SilverSchmidt PC Type L, the lower value range is extended to approx. 5 MPa. In combination with the SilverSchmidt's typical independence from the impact direction, the device is ideal for applications such as determining the right time to remove the formwork when lining tunnels.
Type N: Standard impact energy. The object to be examined should have a minimum thickness of 100 mm and be firmly anchored in the structure.
Type L: Low impact energy. Suitable for brittle objects or structures with a thickness of less than 100 mm.
