MG 6-F1 Gloss Meter with a 60° measuring angle
The MG 6-F1 measures the gloss level of flat surfaces. It is particularly suitable for testing wet and powder coatings. It can also be used to measure coated and finished surfaces, as well as materials such as plastic, wood, paper, ceramics and polished stone.
To take a measurement, the instrument is placed on the surface; the gloss value appears directly on the display. The reading is given in GU (Gloss Units). The reference values are 0 GU for an ideally matt surface and 100 GU for a defined standard made of polished black glass. Values above 100 GU are also possible. GU are not expressed as a percentage.
The storage case contains a gloss tile for calibration. If the device is correctly positioned in the case when switched on, calibration takes place at the touch of a button. It can be recalibrated if necessary.
